Happy Birthday, America
We live in times that try men and women’s souls.
Two years before the American Revolution began, Thomas Jefferson
wrote the single greatest essay in American history.
Jefferson’s “Summary View of Rights of British America” cited the
many injustices of British rule and laid the foundations for the
American Revolution.
Jefferson’s argument for independence addressed tyranny and
misrepresentation, the likes of which America is again
witnessing at the hands of federal regulatory agencies such
as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the
Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Jefferson wrote:
“Single acts of Tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental
opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a
distinguished period, and pursued unalterably through every
change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate,
systematical plan of reducing us to slavery.”
Ex-FDA commissioners have gone to work for Monsanto.
Ex-Monsanto attorneys (from the firm of King & Spalding) now
work at the highest level of our government. One sits on the
Supreme Court (Clarence Thomas) and recently voted down
a lower court decision regarding Monsanto’s genetically
engineered alfalfa seeds. A second Monsanto attorney
(Michael Taylor) was appointed by Barack Obama to oversee
food safety at the FDA.
These conflicts of interest and hundreds of other similar
appointments by Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama have
subordinated the health interests of Americans to the
financial interests of pharmaceutical companies who pay
their way to power and control by giving legal bribes
(PAC donations) to men and women in Congress who repay
such favors by enacting legislation for their masters.
We are in prison. Bars and shackles, favors traded for
laws and policy now prevent us from enjoying our inalienable
rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
These basic truths that were deemed to be self evident to the
founding fathers have been taken away by a series of tyrannical
acts.
Until FDA labels foods containing genetically engineered organisms,
we must continue to protest our loss of liberty. FDA’S tyranny
protects pharmaceutical companies and food manufacturers. The
European Community does not allow such betrayal. Only in America.
We deceive ourselves by believing that we are land of the free.
Our media will not tell us the truth, relying upon ad revenue
from those who betray.
Happy 235th Birthday, America.
