Thanks so much to Lynn Langhoff for this wonderful post today!
… I was just discussing with someone a technique I use frequently for help with healing and pain management. I though perhaps other brothers and sisters could use this info so here goes. This works best if you can get the patient to do this but you can also stand in for the patient but guard your own pain levels if you do step in.
Have the patient pick something out of their mind, an object, favorite holiday, a hobby. Have them describe the “it” to u outloud while laying down with eyes closed. they must concentrate on detailed description. as they get deeper and deeper in the description ask the patient to describe the pain.
Get them to give the pain a color. then ask them to concentrate on putting the pain inside the object. get the patient to change the shape and color of the pain. u would want the pain to get smaller and a softer color. once the pain is in the object shrink the object down as far as they can get it. then have them roll the pain object around their bodies to the nearest arm or leg. then have them roll the pain object out of their bodies.
… by the time the object is at this point I usually ask the patient to just flick it right on out since it is so small and light now. if u do this please monitor your energy level as well since it seems to drain you if you are not careful. hope this helps someone.
