“I know no safe depositary of the ultimate powers of society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to excercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education.”–Thomas Jefferson–

My blogs originate in the strangest of places. This one began in the middle of an open talk lecture I was giving. Present were some of the most successful, prominent individuals in the area. I travel and speak often, you know, got hot air to get out. Must be saying something as I continue to be scheduling and traveling. I, as usual was speaking about social, economic, and ecological responsibilities. I always bring a spiritual as well as human understanding with my open talks. I began with these words, “How will a free people with a free spirit say good-by to the freedoms we love so very much”?

We are just scraping the surface of our problems; we do this quite often when things get scary. It usually costs us a lot of money; which is what we usually do when we should be using our mouths and getting active. We have been good for quick fixes for long-standing problems for a long time. We then go on with business as usual. In the end we impact the economy, our enviroment marginally if any. Our leadership passes bills that they know will do nothing as they too seem bought out by big business lobbiest’s, and to the rich who seem to think they should either own it all or control all us sheep for their best interest. Leadership always says it is for our best interest; a better economy, sounder ecology and to guarantee our freedom. Don’t get me wrong when I speak of the rich, there are I’m sure those who would rather create value for us all with the abundance they have created. I’m just not that sure there as many of those as there are the egomaniacs, greedy little monsters, and wolves in sheep’s clothing in our world today.

Once when talking with a Washington polititon it was said, ” You may pass laws and someday control the human being. What will eventually mess your plans up is a human spirit that was created to be free”. He was so busy being a politition hear what I was saying. I also stated to another Washington polititon when questioned about my patriotism, “Sir, I am no longer a Republican, or a Democrat, nor any other party affiliate. I am an American and am mad as hell at a system that no longer represents the will of the people”. I did not want to decry those who would bring this nation together, just haven’t found many lately. It more each day seems that money buys freedom and representatives in the democracy I was born in. What will we say when our economy, ecology, and freedom are also sold to the highest bidder? Feudalism as well as corporatism are alive both in the homeland as well as in the world, “We the People” are daily feeling trapped like rats on a sinking ship for nothing more than the manipulated, unadulterated ignorance of a world gone insane with the worst of leadership at all levels.

A quote from The Gayan: ” By respecting every person I meet I worship GOD”. Question today is are we respecting every person we meet today or are we disrespecting every one we meet and our selves? The greed and cynicism as well as the hypocrisy in our nation and the world suggests we are not respecting anything. On the other hand we are doing our best to destroy everything including the world for no more than the nothing we believe is everything. Our co-dependence on the paper tiger, our economy has become an endless struggle to destroy our enviroment for a paper tiger we seem to worship. Slowly destroying the interdependent independent world that was once the “American dream”. Like it or not, we are members of one and another, a human family. `If one man or woman suffers we all in the end suffer. Are profits more important than a strong economy, is our ecology less important than the balance sheets of both the investor and the corporation? It would seem so to those who are blind to the truth? We live in the same world, together, either in heaven or hell, and we will create the world we live in either by becoming a part of it or allowing the madness to continue.

It has been historically proven that warnings are not heard by people when they find themselves dependent on a society built on cynicism and hypocrisy. Are we that ignorant to what is happening today or are we to dependent on what we have been so cynically conditioned to believe is the norm? An example could be what is now becoming the worst disaster the United States and possibly the world is facing in the Gulf of Mexico. When it is so obvious that fossil fuels are causing damage to both our economy and our ecology we allow greedy leadership to place all of us at risk for what we could do without. Alternative and renewable energy sources are not that hard or costly to establish in the world today. The cost to our enviroment and economy of BP’s recent disaster in the gulf will prove this.

Todays world has fallen victim to a reality manipulation that is anything less than a nightmare. A new science has emerged, one of visual manipulation filled with empty promises of a better time. We have been told that greed is good, independent thinking is no longer normal, and that everyone is rich and secure. Truth is that tent cities are becoming more the norm every day and earning enough to just get by is becoming the impossible. I was in a city recently and spoke with a wonderful man. He was sitting on the corner of an intersection holding a sign, “Homeless and humiliated”. Why should anyone be brought to such a condition just so a few greedy little monsters can get rich? Why are the scoundrels still not being held accountable, why are “We the People” not standing together demanding accountability from those who’s small-minded greed has caused for us all?

It’s the joke on us all; we were bought off the farm with promises of less work for more pay to buy the consumer goods produced by us for a better way of living. Most the world now works longer and harder to earn less, with less time to truly enjoy living with less money to purchase consumer goods, most of which are not good for the economy or the environment. We are becoming slaves to an economy that seems bent on destroying the ecology for no more than an appearence of stability and security. Are we to allow a new breed of government, business, and commerce to continue unnoticed to steal it all away?

What to do in a world lost in its own nightmare of “Whats going on”? We can, if we choose put all the responsibility on God and the devil, we can if we choose ignore that we through our own personal free will is being created for us all. We could also choose to begin the change by earnestly and honestly looking into our selves first for the change we want in our society, our country, our family and our world. It is there that our economy and our ecology can begin to become one. Truth is that the economy and ecology are one in the same. Freedom will begin with this, freedom then becomes the commerce we would live in and market most. You know what I mean, the freedom to be free, to have and to grow in both self and as a society built not on the lowest moral principles we can create, but rather the highest values we were born with.

“That nation is proudest and noblest and most exalted which has the greatest number of really good men.” –Sinclair Lewis– There is so much talk today of what we should do, so many experts speak from their place of expertise. Why are such experts required when we all truly know what should be done? Are we so ignorant that we believe the promises of those who are not able or are not caring to bring a true change. Most of us do not understand the truth of the Federal Reserve, the similarities between Corporatism and Communism, our educational system, our constitutional government, our justice system, politics, our conformed lifestyles. Instead we seem to simply accept everything that is dictated to us by those whose ultimate challange seems to be to conform us all to the way they see it. We continue to allow the few to play global monopoly with the world and everything in it. If the few win we all truly will lose, even them; that’s insane!

Todays developing cult creates the meritocracy our world is becoming. We are not so common as to be no more than a “Human Resource”, yet being common is becoming more accepted by elitist thinking leadership. Call most people common and someone will not like it, could it be that no one is common? If we are truly common people todays world does cry for us all to be un-common men and women. Ending the cult of mediocrity, stopping the attituid of complacency, and apathy. Demanding accountability at all levels, especially the TOP by us all would make the common man and woman un-common today. The world continues to struggle with a destroyed economy, an ecology that may not support us soon and the freedom we were given at birth stripped away for our own good. We should remember that our great human advances have come when we were not common, rather uncommon as men and women. The vital sparks of leadership are in us all, yes we the common whos humble orgins have created “America the Beautiful, and Home of the Free”. I again ask, ” How will we say good-by to it all”?
