“Never kick a fresh turd on a hot day.”
- Harry S. Truman

Buck Creek probably does not run through your backyard.
Thank goodness!

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is knee-deep
up Buck Creek (without a paddle) investigating a major
Iowa manure spill from Lee Pattison dairy farm in
Garnavillo, Iowa. The Lee Pattison factory farm is
home to 600 cows.

How badly did the manure hit the fan?

On March 10, 2010, the damn manure pit dam overflowed
at the rate of between 50,000 and 70,000 gallons per
minute from a broken pipeline.

There was an enormous fish kill in Buck Creek soon
after the enormous spill.

Iowa’s DNR is investigating whether the fish kill and
manure spill are related. If you ask me, I’d guess
that DNR stands for “Does Not Register.”

If the manure spill did not kill the fish, what did?
Perhaps it was those aliens from the planet Vega.
